“Applied Improv in Facilitation”

I am in London, interviewing Paul Z Jackson, who has just hosted a great 2-day intensive workshop on "advanced facilitation” here at the poor school in London.

The workshop participants are business owners, managers, psychologists and educators and - all looking for inspiration as facilitators. We ended off with an open space session, where we shared challenges and methods.

A SHORT INTRO OF PAUL Z JACKSON

Based on amazon books, where Paul offers numerous titles on Applied Improv and facilitation:

"Paul is a leader in the application of improvisation in the UK and around the world. Co-founder and (ex)President of the Applied Improvisation Network, he designs and leads projects, workshops and training programs that transform lives by developing collaborative skills.

His passion for bringing out the best in people has led to work as a mentor, coach, and trainer of trainers - and facilitators.

He draws on his experiences in journalism, comedy production, and the BBC to create impactful, story-rich events that connect directly to the needs of the participants."

I met Paul in 2014 in COPENHAGEN on a workshop he did on facilitation. Since then I have had the pleasure to contribute to three global Applied Improv Network conferences as a speaker, facilitator, and participant  - in Montreal 2015, Oxford 2016 and Paris 2018.

It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and share your professional experiences.

My first question to Paul in this podcast interview is “how do you see the connection between facilitation and applied improv?”

Enjoy the 30 minutes!
